After dark in Monaco: our picks for nights out during the F1 event

If you’re attending the Monaco Grand Prix, we’ve got some nightlife highlights to make the evenings as electric as your days track-side

February 5, 2019

Where to go:

Every destination has its nightlife hubs, and glittering Monaco is no exception:

Monaco GP 1

Monaco Casino Square

With its fountain and impressive stone-fronted buildings, is the place to see and be seen. As the name suggests, you’ll find plenty of places to indulge in roulette and blackjack, or if you’re here for the cars, sit back with a cool drink and spot the extravagant Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Lamborghini models.

Fontvielle Harbour

Not just a place to park your glamorous yacht, this sheltered marina is one of Monte Carlo’s foodie hubs. It runs the gamut from fine dining to quick snacks and hearty local dishes, and lacks the hectic, touristy feel of some busier areas. After your meal, you can take a walk along the cliffside paths to get some breathtaking views over the water.

Palace Square

Majestic by day, the Prince’s Palace comes into its own after dark. The Renaissance architecture is lit up against the night sky and you can walk through the courtyard to take it all in – unlike the palace itself, it stays open when night falls. After you’ve stopped here for a photo opportunity, you can enjoy a drink or a light bite at one of the bars and cafes nearby.

Clubs and Bars

Whether you like to dance until dawn or recline with a sophisticated cocktail, Monaco’s bar scene has you covered.

Monaco Casino

La Rascasse

This legendary venue sits in a turn of the F1 circuit, and has a packed schedule of DJs, club nights and live performances. A must-do.

Nikki Beach @ Fairmont

Seven floors up, with fantastic ocean views, the Nikki Beach experience at the Fairmont Hotel brings the famed beach club brand to Monaco’s luxury-seekers.

Twiga

A homegrown slice of Monaco luxury, Twiga combines two seafood restaurants, a lounge bar and a nightclub, so your evening can evolve effortlessly from dinner to dancing in one sparkling venue.

Jimmy’z

This glamorous club has hosted some A-list performers in its time, and is awash with typical Monaco touches like flaming Champagne bottles. Just don’t expect a cheap night out… Champagne prices start at 300 euros.

Amber Lounge

A strictly VIP experience awaits at this bar and venue, where you can expect to brush shoulders with celebrity clients as you enjoy unlimited Champagne served by your waiter or let your hair down on the dance floor.

Restaurants and Dining

Savour and refuel at Monaco’s best dining spots – all tastes catered for.

Stars and Bars Monaco

A family-friendly restaurant in the heart of the F1 scene, Stars and Bars serves up American and international dishes from its trackside location. During race season the restaurant’s terrace acts as HQ to drivers and teams taking part in the event.

La Note Bleue

This jazz-infused restaurant offers an impressive menu of world cuisine, which can be served to your sea-side lounger on the adjoining private beach. Their water-misting system keeps you cool and refreshed even in the hottest weather.

Buddha Bar

Sitting within the Monte Carlo Casino in Casino Square, this opulent restaurant serves Asian fusion dishes in a breathtaking interior modelled after the Garnier Opera House in Paris. True to its name, a gigantic Buddha statue presides over the dining area.

New Indien

It may not be famed for its curry, but Monaco has some excellent Indian food on offer at this small but popular restaurant. You can expect to find classic dishes like rogan josh, dopiaza and vindaloo on its lunch and dinner menus. Perfect for the British curry-lover missing the tastes of home.

Le Tip Top

This small and welcoming eaterie is perfect for a casual lunch or a quick bite. Serving burgers, pizza, pasta and salads, it has a great atmosphere and fast, friendly service.
