A Brief Bio

Karun Chandhok has carved his niche in the world of motorsport through his skill, determination, and resilience. Born on January 19, 1984, in Chennai, Chandhok’s passion for racing ignited at an early age, fueling his pursuit of excellence in the sport. His journey to prominence began in Formula Asia, where he showcased his talent, eventually making his mark in Formula Renault and Formula 3 before progressing to the pinnacle of motorsport, Formula One.

Chandhok’s Formula One debut came in 2010 with the Hispania Racing Team, where he faced the formidable challenge of competing against the world’s best drivers. Despite the obstacles, his perseverance and commitment earned him respect within the racing community. Beyond Formula One, Chandhok has also excelled in endurance racing, competing in prestigious events such as the Le Mans 24 Hours, further solidifying his reputation as one of India’s most accomplished racing talents.

Since 2021, he has served on the Board of Directors of Motorsport UK, where he has also been a member of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee. He currently works for Sky Sports as an analyst as well as occasional co-commentator and pit-lane reporter.
