F1 75 – 75 Years of the Formula 1 World Championships
With F1’s 75th anniversary in the spotlight, this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed is shaping up to be an unmissable celebration of everything that makes Formula 1 the pinnacle of motorsport. Expect a jaw-dropping collection of legendary cars, breakthrough tech, and big-name drivers from across the eras, all coming together for a weekend that promises pure racing magic. The main paddock is getting a full F1 makeover, transforming into a buzzing hub of Grand Prix action that’ll thrill die-hard fans and casual enthusiasts alike.
The event will unfold across six themed chapters, each one tracing the remarkable journey of F1 from its roots to its present-day dominance. Prologue kicks things off with a look back at the sport’s prestigious early days, while Pioneers honours the fearless spirit and innovation of F1’s first golden era. Innovators shines a light on the brilliant minds who pushed boundaries and rewrote the rulebook, and Champions pays tribute to the drivers, teams, and machines that became legends. Underdogs gives credit where it’s due, celebrating the outsiders who defied the odds and made history. And finally, at least 7 current F1 Teams will bring the story right up to date, with today’s top teams showcasing the future of speed and performance in the flesh. It’s everything you love about F1 – past, present, and future – all in one unforgettable weekend.
This year’s Festival of Speed is set to deliver a serious dose of F1 nostalgia and modern firepower, with McLaren, Williams, Haas, Red Bull, Sauber, Alpine, and Ferrari all confirmed to attend!

McLaren will be stationed in the Formula 1 paddock all weekend, running a stunning lineup of historic machines up the Hill – including the MP4/2B, the M23, the iconic F1 GTR and the all-mighty MP4/4 with none other than four-time World Champion Alain Prost behind the wheel! Fans will also get up close to the current MCL38 and the 2008 MP4/23, giving a rare look at both the team’s cutting-edge tech and racing heritage.
Williams Racing
Nigel Mansell returns to the wheel of his iconic 1992 title-winning FW14B at the Festival of Speed, joined by James Vowles, Jamie Chadwick, and Lia Block for runs up the Hill. He’ll also reunite with his 1986 FW11, the car that nearly secured him another world title. Speaking to Goodwood, Mansell has said:
I’m looking forward to returning to the Festival of Speed this summer and celebrating 75 years of the Formula 1 World Championship. It’s been amazing to drive the Goodwood Hillclimb in a number of my cars over the years, and I can’t wait to do it all again!

The SF90, which delivered wins for Charles Leclerc in Belgium and Monza and for Sebastian Vettel in Singapore during the 2019 season, will be on show. It’s joined by the SF21 from 2021, which helped Leclerc and new teammate Carlos Sainz Jr. secure third in the Constructors’ Championship. With five podiums and two pole positions that season, the SF21 will be in action on the Hill at Goodwood.
